Adam Wharton's stock has fallen in the transfer market as the Crystal Palace midfielder has seen a dip in his performance in recent times, amid questions about his ability to regain the form that made him one of the brightest emerging talents in English football.

Tony Cascarino, the former Chelsea player and sports analyst, wrote in an article for The Times that Wharton is currently not a player valued at £70 million, considering that his current level does not reflect the high expectations that surrounded him in the past.

Tony Cascarino explained that the departure of several influential players from Crystal Palace, including Eberechi Eze and Daniel Munoz, has negatively impacted Adam Wharton's performance, who excelled at exploiting the quick movements of his teammates in spaces through his precise passing and ability to create chances.

He pointed out that the team has lost some elements that used to provide the midfielder with various attacking options, which has limited his impact on the pitch, alongside the tactical changes and style that have not sufficiently helped him showcase his abilities.

Tony Cascarino believes Adam Wharton's dip in form is not only linked to his individual abilities but also to the surrounding circumstances within the team, as Crystal Palace needs to rebuild its structure and replace the departed players so that the player can regain his form and market value.
