Arda Güler Shines in Real Madrid Training
Arda Güler has made a strong impression during the early days of Real Madrid's pre-season preparations for the new season, catching the eye of the coaching staff led by Portuguese manager José Mourinho thanks to his technical skills and physical readiness, making him one of the standout names in the team's training.
According to Spanish newspaper "AS", the coaching staff needed only a few training sessions to recognize the immense potential that Güler possesses, as the player arrived at the training camp in outstanding physical condition. This prompted one member of the coaching staff to praise him during training, stating: "Güler is flying!".
The newspaper reported that Mourinho intends to give the player an important role in his new project, especially after the levels he showed during last season, as he was one of the standout players for Real Madrid in its final stages.
Güler benefits from being the first international player to return to training, which gives him an advantage in the race for a starting spot as La Liga kicks off.
Güler finished last season with impressive numbers, participating in 51 matches, scoring 6 goals and providing 14 assists, including 8 key passes to Kylian Mbappé, forming a striking duo that caught the attention within Real Madrid. However, an injury he sustained at the end of the season prevented him from concluding the campaign on the pitch.
Despite the intensified competition in his position following the signing of Portuguese player Bernardo Silva, along with the presence of Ibrahim Diaz, Endrick, and Franco Mastantuono, Güler possesses an additional advantage due to Mourinho's previous familiarity with him. The Portuguese coach had previously attempted to sign him on loan when he was managing Fenerbahçe, and now circumstances have finally brought them together within the walls of Real Madrid, where it seems Mourinho has complete faith in the Turkish player's talent ahead of the new season.
