Shieldrop Shines at World Cup, Benfica Raises Demands for His Transfer
Benfica's management is looking to raise the market value of young Norwegian winger Andreas Schjelderup after his standout performances with the national team in the 2026 World Cup.
According to Portuguese newspaper A BOLA, several major English clubs are closely following the player, notably Chelsea, Liverpool, and Tottenham Hotspur. However, any club wishing to sign him will now have to pay a higher fee than previously anticipated.
Reports had previously suggested that Benfica was willing to part ways with Shieldrop for a fee of €20 million, but the player's standout performances with the Norwegian national team during the World Cup have prompted the Portuguese club to reassess their financial position regarding the transfer.
The young winger has a release clause in his contract worth €100 million, but the Portuguese club would be willing to part ways with the player if offers between €40-50 million come in.
Sheilderob is considered one of the most promising talents in European football, having caught the eye with his remarkable speed and ability to make a difference in the attacking third. This has made him a target for several clubs looking to strengthen their wing positions ahead of the new season.
