Official: Manchester United Signs Tielemans

Manchester United has announced, via its official website, the signing of Belgian midfielder Youri Tielemans, after completing the registration procedures, on a contract that runs until June 2031.

Yuri Tielemans joins the team following his participation with the Belgium national team in the 2026 World Cup, where he led his country to the quarter-finals. He has also made 90 international appearances for the national team.

Last season saw the player shine with Aston Villa, having assisted seven goals and played a crucial role in clinching the UEFA Europa League title by scoring the opening goal in the final against Freiburg, along with impressive stats in playmaking and breaking defensive lines.

Tielemans stated: "Joining Manchester United is a great source of pride for me, and it is the result of years of hard work. My ambition now is to continue achieving success and competing for the biggest trophies with the club."

Jason Wilcox, the sporting director, confirmed that Tielemans has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League over the past few years, noting that he possesses the right technical quality and mentality to succeed with Manchester United.

Wilcox added that the player will provide the team with more calmness, creativity, and leadership, expressing his happiness at the addition of someone with significant experience both on and off the pitch, as part of building a team capable of competing for all titles.
