Eiraola Explains Two-Year Deal with Liverpool: Continuity Must Be Earned
Andoni Eiraola, the new head coach of Liverpool, has revealed his philosophy regarding coaching contracts, explaining the reason behind his two-year deal with the English club after taking over from Dutchman Arne Slot.
Eiraola stated, "Coaching contracts don't mean much. I don't want to stay in a place just because I have a contract," adding, "I signed for two years, but in reality, a coach's work is evaluated season by season."
The Liverpool manager continued, "I hope to stay here for two years, or even more, because that would mean I have done a very good job. But I feel that we have to earn that," emphasizing that his continuation in the role should depend on success and the work he delivers, not just on the length of the contract.
Eiraola begins a new chapter in his coaching career with Liverpool under a two-year contract, with aspirations to bring the team back into strong title contention, while the Spanish coach confirmed in his first media appearance that the team still needs further reinforcements before the new season kicks off.
