Paraguay Keeper: Mbappe's Actions Angered Me
Orlando Gil, Paraguay's goalkeeper, expressed his frustration with Kylian Mbappe's behavior after the end of the France vs. Paraguay match in the Round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup on Saturday.
Gil stated in a post-match interview: "Kylian Mbappe really angered me. I reached out to shake his hand and congratulate him, but he ignored me. I am upset."
The goalkeeper's comments came after he attempted to shake hands with Mbappe following the final whistle, but the French captain was preoccupied with celebrating after leading "Les Bleus" to the quarter-finals by scoring the only goal from a penalty.
Gil delivered an impressive performance against France, successfully saving several dangerous chances, particularly from Kylian Mbappe, making him one of the standout players of the match despite Paraguay's exit from the tournament.
France is set to face Morocco in the quarter-finals.
