An Important Step by Donis in Saudi National Team Training Before the Spain Match

Wednesday 17-06-2026
The head coach of the Saudi national team, Greek Georgios Donis, has adopted a special training program aimed at preparing the players physically and mentally to face Spain in the 2026 World Cup, by adjusting the training schedule according to the match timing.

The coaching staff scheduled the training sessions for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at 12:00 PM Atlanta time, which corresponds to 7:00 PM Riyadh time, in order to adapt to the conditions of the upcoming match.

The Saudi national team will play its match against Spain at the same time next Sunday, as part of the second round of the group stage in the global tournament.

This came after the Green team drew 1-1 with Uruguay, as the team resumed its training at the "Q2" stadium in Austin amidst an open atmosphere for fans and media.

Donis divided the training session between recovery exercises for the main players and field exercises for the rest of the team, in addition to special programs for the goalkeepers that focused on quick response.

The coaching staff also began holding daily meetings to analyze the performance of the Uruguay match, with the aim of correcting mistakes before the upcoming encounter.

The team is scheduled to continue its training in Austin before moving to Atlanta, where they will hold their final session at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium ahead of facing the Spanish team.
