The French national team achieved a morale-boosting victory over its counterpart, the Northern Ireland team, with a score of 3-1, in the friendly match that took place on Monday evening at the Pierre Mauroy Stadium, as part of the 'Les Bleus' preparations for the 2026 World Cup.
Michael Olise opened the scoring for the French team in the 43rd minute, before the same player returned to extend the hosts' lead with a second goal at the start of the second half, specifically in the 49th minute.
The Northern Ireland team managed to reduce the deficit through Patrick Kelly in the 64th minute, but Olise continued his brilliance and scored the third goal for France, and his personal third, with a superb shot from outside the penalty area in the 75th minute, leading his team to a well-deserved victory.
The French national team will begin its World Cup campaign against the Senegalese team on June 16.
