FIFA President Gianni Infantino has entered a new phase of pressure after summoning senior officials to an "emergency meeting" in the Moroccan capital, Rabat, amid rising criticism directed at him regarding the plan to sell part of the commercial rights for FIFA tournaments, primarily the World Cup.

According to media reports, Infantino is striving to unify the stance of federation officials and rally support around him, as speculation about his future increases and the possibility of pressures threatening his position at the helm of FIFA looms.

Arsène Wenger, the Chief of Global Football Development, stated in press comments that he was never involved in Gianni Infantino's plan, emphasizing that the decision to withdraw the project was entirely necessary and beyond dispute.

These developments came after most federations rejected the FFE project, which proposed granting private investment funds 20% of the commercial revenues from the World Cup and FIFA tournaments. This project has sparked widespread opposition within the global football community.

The FIFA presidential elections are scheduled for March 18 in Rabat, amid increasing talk of moves led by UEFA to support a rival candidate to Infantino. Names such as Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and CONCACAF president Victor Montagliani have emerged as prominent contenders, though no final decision has been made regarding which candidate will receive European backing.
