Infantino Seeks Trump Administration Support to Stay in Power

Gianni Infantino, the President of FIFA, continues his efforts to rally support ahead of the FIFA presidential elections, amid increasing calls for his resignation.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Infantino is preparing to hold a meeting with prominent officials in the administration of President Donald Trump, as part of his efforts to gain political support that strengthens his position ahead of the upcoming elections.

Jacobs added that the FIFA President has recently conducted a series of communications with several national federations, asking them to publicly declare their support, at a time when calls for his resignation are escalating.

Meanwhile, informed sources denied that a specific call was scheduled for today at noon, but sources close to U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed ongoing communication with Gianni Infantino, reflecting continued behind-the-scenes movements.

These developments come after UEFA's decision to reject the FFE project, which aimed to grant private investment funds 20% of the commercial revenues from the World Cup and FIFA tournaments, a proposal that sparked widespread controversy within the football community.

The FIFA presidential elections are set to take place on March 18 in Rabat, Morocco.
