Orlando Gill apologises to Kylian Mbappé
Lille's new goalkeeper, Paraguayan Orlando Gill, spoke about the incident he had with Kylian Mbappé after the match between France and Paraguay in the Round of 16 of the World Cup, which ended with France winning 1-0.
Orlando Gill clashed with Kylian Mbappé after the match, as the French star ignored his handshake, prompting the goalkeeper to respond by kicking the ball towards his back.
Gill said: "I am competitive, I don't like losing, and sometimes we do things without thinking. After that, I thought about it and apologized. This is not my personality, and all of that is in the past."
He added: "I even spoke with his brother Ethan, and we have a very good relationship. He is a great professional like Kylian Mbappé."
Orlando Gill, 26, has joined Lille this summer on a five-year contract, becoming a teammate of Kylian Mbappé.
