Iran Announces Its Final Squad for the 2026 World Cup

The Iranian national team is competing in the tournament as part of Group G, which includes alongside it the teams of Egypt, Belgium, and New Zealand. This group is expected to witness intense competition for the qualifying spots to the next round.

The list included the most prominent names in Iranian football, led by Porto's striker Mehdi Taremi, alongside the national team's captain Alireza Jahanbakhsh. The coaching staff relies on their experience along with the other key players to lead the team during the World Cup journey.
