Urgent action from the football association after the suspension of the twins and Ziko
The Egyptian Football Association has officially requested FIFA's Disciplinary Committee to provide the detailed reasons and justifications behind the suspension of twins Hossam and Ibrahim Hassan, in addition to striker Mostafa Ziko. This step comes as the EFA seeks to assess the situation from a legal standpoint, in preparation for filing an official appeal against these decisions in accordance with applicable international regulations.
FIFA has announced the suspension of Hossam Hassan, the head coach of the Egyptian national team, for 3 matches, and Ibrahim Hassan, the team manager, for 3 matches, while Mostafa Ziko has been suspended for 5 matches as a penalty due to incidents related to the FIFA World Cup.
This follows the events of the match between Egypt and Argentina in the Round of 16 of the FIFA World Cup, which saw controversial refereeing decisions and clashes with the match referee and some players from Argentina.
Egypt, led by Hossam Hassan, is preparing to face Malawi on November 13 and 17 in the third and fourth rounds of the FIFA World Cup 2027 qualifiers.
