Iraola on Leverkusen's Radar

The future of Spanish coach Andoni Iraola has entered a new phase of uncertainty, as his name has become prominent in the European coaching market following his decision to leave Bournemouth at the end of the current season, after a successful stint that caught the attention of several major clubs.

Iraola managed to lead Bournemouth to an outstanding season in the English Premier League, where the team competed for spots qualifying for European competitions, which boosted the Spanish coach's reputation across Europe.

Despite his name recently being linked with managing Crystal Palace, and previously being on the shortlist for the Chelsea job before the club signed Xabi Alonso, new developments may lead him in a completely different direction.

According to press reports, Bayer Leverkusen has strongly entered the race to sign the Spanish coach, amid reservations within the management about the work of the current coach, Kasper Hjulmand, despite his contract being extended for an additional season.

Leverkusen's management believes that Iraola has the right attributes to maintain the artistic identity the team has displayed in recent years, especially after the successful period the club experienced under Xabi Alonso's leadership, with a clear desire to continue the team's attacking style and competitive ambition.

The move to the Bundesliga also represents an attractive option for the Spanish coach, especially after Leverkusen secured European participation next season by finishing sixth in the Bundesliga and qualifying for the Europa League.

Iraola is expected to make his final decision in the coming period, amid increasing interest in his services from several European clubs, following the outstanding work he has done with Bournemouth in recent seasons.
