Saturday 02-05-2026
Coach Massimiliano Allegri confirmed that Milan's qualification for the UEFA Champions League will significantly impact the club's summer plans, noting that continental participation could change the transfer market value by approximately 100 million euros.

Allegri's statements came before the match against Sassuolo in the Italian League, where he emphasized that the team still needs six points to officially secure qualification.

Allegri spoke about the injury of star Luka Modric, which may keep him out until the end of the season, stressing that his enthusiasm and desire to return quickly should be an inspiration for the rest of the players.

He also mentioned that either Yashari or Ricci will replace him, with special praise for Yashari, whom he described as "the future of Milan" after his significant development this season.

Regarding the team's future, the Italian coach explained that the current meetings with the management concern both the present and the future, confirming full harmony regarding strengthening the squad. He added that the club will build its project on a group of young talents like Comotto, Gabbia, Camarda, Bartesaghi, and Torriani, allowing investments to be directed towards signing experienced players.

Allegri also defended several stars who have been criticized recently, most notably Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic, asserting that the fans' whistles towards Leao were "a sign of love," and that his performance against Juventus was one of his best matches despite the lack of goals. He also emphasized Pulisic's importance for the team's future, considering that the value of great players is not measured by a temporary decline.
