How Much Will Milan Earn If Tonali Leaves Newcastle?
AC Milan is monitoring any developments regarding the future of the Italian midfielder Sandro Tonali, amidst interest from several Premier League clubs, including Tottenham and Manchester City, with questions arising about the potential financial return for the Italian club if the deal is completed.
According to Italian and British press reports, Tottenham, led by coach Roberto De Zerbi, made an initial offer to sign Tonali, but Newcastle rejected it, with varying estimates of its value ranging between 86 million euros and 92 million euros.
Reports indicate that several other English clubs have shown interest in acquiring the player, including Manchester United and Arsenal, alongside Manchester City, at a time when Tonali might miss European competitions if he continues with Newcastle next season.
Tonali moved to Newcastle United from Milan in the summer of 2023 for about 70 million euros, including bonuses, without a clause granting Milan a percentage of future resale, according to the 'Calcio Mercato' website.
Nevertheless, Milan could financially benefit from any future deal through the solidarity contribution mechanism imposed by FIFA, which stipulates allocating 5% of the transfer value to the clubs that contributed to training the player between the ages of 12 and 23.
Based on this mechanism, Milan will be among the benefiting clubs alongside Piacenza and Brescia, with estimates suggesting that the Italian club could receive an amount ranging between 1 million and 1.8 million euros, depending on the final value of any potential transfer deal for Tonali during the summer transfer window.
