Modric Postpones Decision on His Future with Milan... Anticipated Meeting with Amorim
The Croatian star Luka Modric is still considering his future with Milan, as he has not yet made a final decision on whether to continue with the team or embark on a new experience after the end of the season.
The newspaper "La Gazzetta dello Sport" explained that Modric is awaiting a meeting with the new coach Ruben Amorim in the coming weeks, a meeting that could play a significant role in determining his future at San Siro.
The captain of the Croatian national team is currently focusing on his journey in the 2026 World Cup, having stated that he will not discuss his club-level future until after the tournament concludes.
Modric, who will turn 41 next September, played 37 matches in the Italian league last season, during which he scored two goals and assisted three. His current contract includes a clause that allows for an extension for an additional season by mutual agreement, for a net annual salary of 3.5 million euros.
The Italian newspaper believes that the player's and his family's stability in Milan, along with Amorim's strategy of managing his participation in a way that suits his current stage, could give Milan an advantage in convincing him to stay.
At the same time, other options remain available for Modric, most notably returning to Dinamo Zagreb, his first club, or moving to an administrative role at Real Madrid if he decides to end his football career after the World Cup.
Despite the numerous possibilities, the newspaper, citing "Calcio Mercato," confirmed that Modric's future with Milan remains open and that the final decision has not yet been made.
