The club stated in an official announcement that medical examinations undergone by the player Lamine Yamal confirmed that he sustained an injury to the biceps femoris muscle in his left leg, and he will undergo conservative treatment in the coming period.

The statement confirmed that the player will miss the remainder of the current season, but is expected to be ready to participate in the World Cup.

Yamal was injured during Barcelona's match against Celta Vigo after taking a penalty kick from which he scored the winning goal, as he fell to the ground immediately after scoring.
