Fabian Ruiz Returns to Paris Saint-Germain Squad After Injury
Saturday 18-04-2026
The newspaper AS revealed that Spanish international Fabián Ruiz has returned to the Paris Saint-Germain squad after being absent for about three months due to a patellar bone injury in his knee, making him ready to participate in the final and decisive stage of the season.

Fabian will be on the team list for the match against Olympique Lyon, in a game that could bring Paris Saint-Germain a significant step closer to securing the French league title.

The player's absence in the past period was due to an injury sustained on January 20 during a UEFA Champions League match against Sporting Lisbon, where it was later revealed that he was suffering from a fracture in his left patella.

The player, in coordination with the club, chose to initially rely on conservative treatment before undergoing an intensive rehabilitation program with the medical staff, without rushing a return to the field until full recovery is achieved.

Despite his connection with the Spanish national team, Fabián preferred not to rush his return or push for participation during the past period, and he was not considered for the national team in the recent international break.

During his absence, the young Warren Zaire-Emery delivered an outstanding performance in midfield alongside Vitinha and Joao Neves, intensifying the competition for his position upon his return.

Despite being ready, Fabian is not expected to start immediately, as the coaching staff aims to maintain the balance the team has recently achieved. However, he might get some minutes against Lyon in his first appearance after returning.

Paris Saint-Germain is preparing for a busy period spanning nine matches over 27 days, along with a strong encounter in the Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich, which makes Fabian's return even more significant to bolster midfield options.
