Luis Enrique, the head coach of Paris Saint-Germain, is keen on signing Kobbie Mainoo, a midfielder from Manchester United, to be a future replacement for Fabián Ruiz as part of his plans to bolster the squad.

According to "Fichajes", the 21-year-old English player has entered the considerations of the French club, despite there being no official communications between the two clubs or an offer to sign him yet.

Luis Enrique is looking for a young player capable of taking responsibility in midfield, especially since Fabián Ruiz is 30 years old, despite his contract with Paris Saint-Germain running until 2028, with the possibility of an extension for an additional season.

Mainoo has experience in the Premier League and has previously represented the senior national team of England. He is also known for his ability to regain possession and contribute to build-up play.

In contrast, Manchester United have secured a strong position after renewing the player's contract in April 2026 until June 30, 2031. Kobbie Mainoo had lost his place during the period of Ruben Amorim, before regaining his appearances with the arrival of Michael Carrick.

The same source indicated that Kobbie Mainoo represents a future option for Paris Saint-Germain, with the possibility of exploring the option to sign him in 2027, should Luis Enrique decide to shift his focus to a formal move.
