Surprise Regarding the Future of Al Ahly's Matches Against Al Masry Al Port Said
The media personality Ahmed Shobeir confirmed that it is difficult for Al Ahly to meet Al Masry Al Port Said at the Port Said Stadium after its renovation.
In a radio statement, Shobeir said: "What will you do psychologically for the Al Ahly and Al Masry match? The match itself hasn't been played in Port Said for quite some time."
He added: "Will they go to play in Cairo, Alexandria, or Suez? I've been saying for a long time that I don't recommend the match being played in Port Said at all."
He continued: "First of all, we must say that the Al Ahly and Al Masry match should be played on a neutral ground. And if Zamalek objects, see how you will handle it?"
He concluded: "Al Ahly hasn't been playing in Cairo since 2012, which means it's been about 14 years... Meanwhile, Al Masry must play in Cairo and teams have to go play in Port Said... because it's illogical to build a stadium and spend all that money, and then not have matches played there."
