Flick: La Liga is Not Decided Yet, and We Will Fight for a Perfect Match Against Atletico
Saturday 11-04-2026
German Hans Flick, the coach of Barcelona, confirmed that the Spanish league title has not been decided yet despite the big win over Espanyol with a score of 4-1, emphasizing at the same time the need for full concentration before the Champions League match against Atletico Madrid.

Flick said: "It is not decided yet, a nine-point difference is a good thing and a great feeling, but we cannot act as if everything is over, and I will not accept that until it is officially decided."

He continued: "The match was different from what we expected, and we had to change the plan we were working on, and Espanyol made the match difficult for us."

He added: "Winning the derby is important, and we have 79 points and we are in a good position with a nine-point lead, but the match was difficult and not easy, especially in the second half, we lost some control, but the changes of Dani Olmo and Frenkie de Jong were important."

He went on: "We do not need a miracle, we need a perfect match, we were the better team in the first leg despite the loss, and there are many possibilities, Atletico is a great team but so are we, and we will fight."

He concluded his remarks by saying: "I am very happy for Ferran Torres, the team is in good condition and in great spirits, and I am also happy for Marcus Rashford's goal, and Lamine Yamal was outstanding on his special day in his 100th match."

He added: "We controlled the first half and went ahead 2-0, and the match should have been decided, but things changed later, and it was important for Lamine to continue, as well as the participation of Dani and Frenkie."

Flick concluded his remarks reassuring the condition of Gerard Martin, saying: "It's not a big issue and I think he will be able to play on Tuesday."
