Barcelona's Stance on Signing Jakub Kiwior
Media reports have revealed Barcelona's stance on signing defender Jakub Kiwior, a player for Porto on loan from Arsenal, during the upcoming summer transfer window, as the Catalan club seeks to strengthen its defense line.
Polish sources mentioned that Deco, Barcelona's sporting director, contacted Porto's management to inquire about the possibility of signing Kiwior in the summer transfer market, aiming to bolster the team's backline.
However, the Spanish newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo' denied these reports, confirming that Jakub Kiwior is not currently in Barcelona's plans, despite the team's need for a high-level defender.
The newspaper added that Barcelona, despite looking to strengthen its defense line, does not consider Kiwior among its preferred options, even after the performances he delivered last season, during which Porto won the Portuguese league title.
The report indicated that Barcelona's management is currently fully focused on signing a new striker during the summer market, with plans to address the defense reinforcement at a later stage of the transfer window.
Kiwior had spent a period with Arsenal before moving to Porto, where he did not get regular playing opportunities, before regaining his form with the Portuguese club, which intends to activate the clause for his permanent purchase.
