Barcelona has begun to seriously move to finalize the team's reinforcement file in preparation for the next season, after the sporting director Deco returned to the city following a business trip to London with Bojan Krkic, amidst ongoing work on several offensive files within the Catalan club.

The Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" reported that Deco spoke upon his arrival in Barcelona, confirming that the sports management has already begun steps to strengthen the team during the upcoming transfer window.

Deco said, "In the end, we will need to sign some players, and that is why we are working on it."

The sporting director of Barcelona refused to disclose details of ongoing negotiations with some of the proposed names, particularly Brazilian Joao Pedro, the Chelsea striker, merely indicating that there are initial contacts with the entourage of several players.

He added: "At the moment, we can't say anything. There are many players with whom we have brief conversations with those close to them to find out what might happen."

Deco also did not confirm the existence of direct negotiations with Chelsea regarding Joao Pedro, explaining that communications with the clubs have not started yet.

He said, "So far, we haven't talked to the clubs; we're just doing a little work."

When asked about the possibility of signing Argentine Julian Alvarez, Deco did not give a clear answer and simply said, "We'll see, we'll see."

The sporting director of Barcelona continued his discussion about João Pedro after being asked about the player's desire to wear the Catalan club's jersey, saying: "I am well aware of João Pedro's environment, but that is not the issue right now."

The report also indicated that Deco has not yet resolved Barcelona's stance on activating the option to purchase Marcus Rashford, whom the club can acquire for 30 million euros, given the player's desire to continue with the team following a loan period during which he performed well.
