Amid European Competition, Napoli Begins Move to Sign Juventus Striker

Napoli has entered initial negotiations to sign Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic, amid increasing chances of his departure from Juventus during the upcoming summer transfer window, with interest from several major European clubs.

The Italian newspaper 'Tuttosport' reported that Napoli's management has begun contacts with Vlahovic's father and his entourage, in an attempt to explore the possibility of signing the Juventus striker, whose contract with the club ends in the near future.

Juventus is facing difficulty in keeping the player, especially after the team's failure to qualify for the Champions League for the 2026/2027 season, alongside the management's desire to reduce his current salary, which amounts to 12 million euros annually.

Interest in Vlahovic is not limited to Napoli alone, as both Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid are monitoring the player's situation, with the potential to offer him the opportunity to participate in the Champions League next season, which may influence his final decision.

The same source also clarified that Newcastle United remains among the clubs interested in signing the Serbian striker, but it needs to present a substantial financial offer to convince the player to move to the team, especially after finishing the season in twelfth place in the English Premier League and not qualifying for any European competition.

On the other hand, Juventus director Damian Comolli confirmed the club's ongoing desire to retain Vlahovic despite the uncertainty surrounding his future.

Napoli's interest in Vlahovic comes as the club prepares to appoint a new coach to replace Antonio Conte, who left the team after two seasons.
