Juan Carlos Garrido, the former coach of Al Ahly, spoke about the upcoming friendly match between the Egyptian national team and its Spanish counterpart, scheduled to take place this Tuesday evening during the international break in March.

Garrido emphasized that the Spanish national team possesses high technical quality, but he also pointed out that the Egyptian team includes outstanding players capable of delivering a strong performance. He explained that the match would be challenging for both sides, with a close level of opportunities.

He pointed out that the players of the Egyptian national team are eager to showcase their abilities against a strong opponent, which gives the match a special competitive edge.

The Spanish coach spoke about some of the national team players, stating that he is well-acquainted with Mohamed Hany, Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet, and Rami Rabia. He highlighted the strong relationship he shares with them and emphasized that Trezeguet is one of the players he highly values both on a technical and personal level.

Garrido revealed that he is currently in Barcelona, as he wishes to closely follow the match and is keen to meet with the Egyptian national team players and coaching staff.

Regarding Mohamed Salah's absence, it was explained that he is an influential player in any team, but his absence might provide an opportunity for another player to prove their abilities.

In another context, Garrido indicated that Barcelona is looking to strengthen its attacking line, noting that Omar Marmoush is one of the names being considered, given the levels he has been displaying recently in European fields.

He concluded his remarks by affirming that the national teams of Egypt, Algeria, and Morocco have good chances to perform strongly in the 2026 World Cup. He also praised his previous experience with Al Ahly, describing it as exceptional, and expressed his great appreciation for the club and its fans.
