The Spanish newspaper "AS" revealed that the name of Portuguese star Bernardo Silva has returned to Barcelona's list of interests, after previously being a primary target for the Catalan club.

According to the report, the contract of Manchester City midfielder expires on June 30th, and he has decided to leave the team at the end of the season, making him an attractive opportunity in the transfer market, especially with the possibility of a free transfer.

Silva is represented by the famous agent Jorge Mendes, who has a strong relationship with Barcelona president Joan Laporta, which could facilitate any potential negotiations between the parties.

Nevertheless, Barcelona faces competition in signing the player, as his services are attracting interest from several clubs, including those in the Saudi league, along with inquiries from Juventus and Benfica regarding the possibility of signing him.

On the other hand, the newspaper indicates that signing Silva is not a top priority for Barcelona at the moment, as the club is more focused on strengthening the positions of striker and central defender during the upcoming transfer window.

However, the club remains open to the idea of signing a player skilled at playing in the number 8 position, to give Pedri a chance to rest in some matches. This is a role Silva can fulfill thanks to his great technical abilities, as well as his capability to play on the wings and in the attacking midfield.
