Official: Paco Alcácer Announces Retirement from Football
Wednesday 11-03-2026
The Spanish newspaper "Sport" reported that Spanish striker Paco Alcácer has decided to retire from football permanently at the age of 32, after a successful career in La Liga.

Alcácer played his last match with the team on January 11, 2025, and retired from football more than a year after that match, having recorded a total of 455 matches and 170 goals at the club level.

The newspaper highlighted his most notable professional stints with Valencia and Barcelona, where he scored important goals and showcased his significant attacking abilities during his years at the Mestalla Stadium. He also had a brief period with Getafe.

In 2016, Barcelona decided to sign Alcácer as a reliable backup option to rotate with Luis Suárez in the attack line, paying 30 million euros to acquire him, making him an effective element in the team's lineup in the following seasons, according to the Spanish newspaper "Sport."
