Yves Torup, the coach of Al Ahly, confirmed that he takes responsibility for his team's loss against Tala'ea El Gaish in the league.

Al Ahly lost to Tala'ea El Gaish with a score of 2-1 on Monday evening in a postponed match from the 15th round of the Egyptian Premier League.

During the press conference following the match, Torop said: "We congratulate the Tala'ea El Gaish team on their victory, and I will not look for excuses for losing the match. Winning it was very important and would have put us in a good position in the competition before the second stage of the league."

He added: "We played good attacking football in the first half, and the opponent didn't get any chances, but in the second half, we weren't organized, which allowed the opponent to create attacks against us. The outcome of the match depends on creating opportunities and what we did in the 18-yard box. Of course, we didn't perform as required, and for us, we can't defend with five and attack with five; we need to attack with ten players."

He continued: "I take full responsibility and I told the players that I am accountable."

He concluded: "It's not just the fans who are dissatisfied with the performance; none of us are happy. As I said, the match was important for us and would have put us in a significant position before the final games. Entering that stage coming off a loss won't give us confidence, but we must look in the mirror and admit there has been a shortcoming on our part. The important thing is to get back on the right track."
