The referees committee of the Spanish Football Federation announced the appointment of international referee Ricardo De Burgos to manage the Barcelona and Atletico Madrid match, scheduled for tomorrow in the second leg of the Spanish King's Cup semi-final, with the Madrid team entering with a 4-0 lead from the first leg.

Daniel Trujillo will be responsible for managing the video technology, following the controversy in the Real Madrid vs Real Sociedad match when a penalty was awarded after Vinicius fell inside the area.

Referee Ricardo De Burgos managed a Barcelona league match this season at Camp Nou, which ended with a 3-1 victory for the Catalan team. This will be the fifth match he manages between the two teams, and the fourth in a row, with the first encounter dating back to the first leg of the Spanish King's Cup semi-final in February 2017, where Atletico lost 2-1 to Barcelona.

Previous encounters under his leadership saw Atletico win in the first league match last season 2-1, and Barcelona win the return match 4-2 at the Metropolitano Stadium, in addition to this season's clash. Overall, Ricardo De Burgos has recorded three victories for Barcelona against one for Atletico.

In terms of match management history, the referee has managed Barcelona on 34 occasions, resulting in 28 wins, one draw, and five losses, while he has managed Atletico Madrid in 38 matches, achieving 25 wins, seven draws, and six losses, making Atletico the team he has managed the most matches for in La Liga.
