FC Barcelona has made a verbal offer to renew the contract of their Danish defender Andreas Christensen, extending it for an additional season with the option to extend for another season, in a move aimed at keeping the defender in the team.

Christensen's contract with Barcelona ends at the end of the current season, and despite the injury he is suffering from, the Catalan club wants him to stay.

According to press sources, the offer includes an annual salary of approximately 6 million euros in total, in addition to performance and participation-related incentives, which is roughly half of what the player earns in his current contract.

This move is part of the Catalan club's policy to restructure salaries and adhere to financial fair play, in addition to supporting the player who has been suffering from numerous injuries since joining the team.
