Paris Saint-Germain Refuses to Rush Fabian Ruiz's Return
Monday 23-02-2026
The last appearance of Spanish star Fabian Ruiz dates back to January 16th, during a 3-0 victory over Lille, in a match where the midfielder delivered a perfect performance that underscored his importance in Paris Saint-Germain's midfield.

However, the player experienced mild knee pain that forced him to stop, before the injury became more complicated than expected, causing him to miss official competitions since then.

The Paris Saint-Germain coach emphasized that he will not risk any player who is not fully ready, stating in previous comments: "I don't know when he will return, but he is improving."

According to the current data, it is unlikely that Ruiz will be included in the team list for the return leg against Monaco in the Champions League qualifying play-off, given the strict policy followed by the coaching staff of not risking injured players.

The positive news is that Fabian returned to ball-handling during individual training last week, which is an important indicator as the crucial stages of the season approach. Additionally, the brilliance of young Warren Zaire-Emery in midfield has somewhat alleviated the impact of the absence of one of the team's key players from last season.

Since his injury, Ruiz has missed seven matches, with the Monaco encounter being the eighth, including games in the French league and others in the Champions League. This season, he has played 24 matches across various competitions, scoring two goals and providing three assists, which are lower numbers compared to last season when he contributed to 19 goals.

Paris Saint-Germain's management seems calm regarding his recovery, and he may return next Saturday against Le Havre, or his appearance might be postponed until March 6th in the match against Monaco in the league.
