Hossam Fawzi: We Have Turned the Page on Al-Wasl and Aim to Compensate Against Al-Karkh
The preparations of the Al-Zawraa team continue for the anticipated match against Al-Karkh in the nineteenth round of the Iraqi Stars League, where assistant coach Hossam Fawzi held a press conference to discuss the team's readiness before the meeting, which will take place tomorrow evening, Saturday, at Captain Sharar Haider Stadium.
In his opening remarks, Hossam Fawzi said: “We have completed our preparations well, and the players have shown high commitment in recent training sessions. There is a clear desire to deliver a strong performance that will bring the team back to the path of victories in the league.”
He added: “We understand that facing Al-Karkh will not be easy, as they are an organized team and play well against big teams. Therefore, we have approached the match with great focus and have set a plan that suits the nature of the opponent.”
He pointed out: “Exiting the Asian tournament is now in the past, and we have talked to the players about the necessity of completely turning the page, as the league is now our main goal, and we have postponed matches that we must capitalize on correctly.”
He continued: “We focused in recent training sessions on both the mental and physical aspects, especially since the team has played strong matches recently. It was important to restore balance and recovery while maintaining readiness.”
He explained: “Al-Karkh has fast elements on the flanks and is good at offensive transitions, so we emphasized the issue of tactical discipline and not giving the opponent spaces, while exploiting the opportunities that arise for us in front of the goal.”
He concluded by saying: “We have great confidence in all the players, and any participant will be able to make a contribution. The team has a complete group capable of taking responsibility in such matches.”
Hossam Fawzi concluded his statements by saying: “We respect Al-Karkh a lot, but we go to the field with one goal, which is to achieve the three points. Al-Zawraa fans deserve to be delighted, and we will do everything we have to come out with a positive result that enhances our position in the standings.”
