Luay Salah: The Three Points Are a Mandatory Demand Against Amanat and This Is Our Goal
Saturday 25-04-2026
Al-Zawraa Club held its press conference regarding the match against Amanat Baghdad within the 31st round of the Iraqi Stars League, attended by coach Luay Salah and player Mytham Jabbar, where the duo emphasized the importance of the match and the need to continue collecting points amidst the intense race for the top four.

Coach Luay Salah began his speech by setting things straight, confirming that the current stage does not tolerate complacency: 'We are now required to achieve the three points in every match, and any exceptional circumstances are unacceptable to us. We have reached a stage where there is no room for mistakes if we want to reach our goal.'

Salah acknowledged the difficult circumstances the team is going through: 'We suffer from match pressure, tight schedules, and physical fatigue. The league schedule is very tight, and players play a match approximately every four days, which affects physical and technical readiness.'

However, the 'Nawras' coach affirmed that the spirit within the team is the strongest weapon: 'We have instilled a culture of one team, and everyone plays for the emblem. No player is more important than the team, and this is the secret of our return to positive results in recent rounds.'

About tomorrow's match, Salah said: 'Our team is ready for tomorrow's match despite the existing absences. We know the task will not be easy, as Amanat Baghdad is a respectable team and is always tough at Al-Karkh Stadium. Everyone respects them and takes them very seriously, especially when they play at home.'

On his part, player Mytham Jabbar emphasized the importance of every remaining match in the league: 'All matches are important, and thankfully we have started moving in the right direction. Winning the last two rounds has given us great confidence, but the journey is still long.'

Jabbar confirmed that the players' focus is on one goal: 'Our focus is on achieving victory and collecting the three points in every confrontation. We do not think about calculations, we only think about the next match and how to come out victorious.'

The Al-Zawraa player praised the philosophy of the technical staff in dealing with the group: 'The coaching staff has established a philosophy where everyone is equal within the team, and there is no difference between a main player and a substitute. This has raised the spirit of competition among us and made every player fight in training to get their chance.'

Luay Salah's statements reflect the reality Al-Zawraa is currently living. The team is in fifth place with 57 points, just one point away from the top four. The recent victories over Al-Karkh and Diyala have brought the 'Nawras' back to the forefront, but absences are strongly affecting the team.

Amer Jamees is absent due to a red card, and there are doubts about the readiness of Hassan Abdul Karim, Brian, Karrar Nabil, and Junior, in addition to the absence of Dhirgham Ismail and Abdullah Naseeb. However, Salah refuses to use absences as an excuse and affirms that the 'one team culture' is capable of compensating for any player.
