UEFA Imposes Fine on Barcelona
The Union of European Football Associations announced a fine of 30,500 euros on Barcelona following the events of their match against Slavia Prague on January 21, within the penultimate round of the group stage in the UEFA Champions League.
According to the Spanish newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo', the penalty was distributed as 15,500 euros due to the lighting of flares by Barcelona fans, and 15,000 euros due to delays in entering the field.
The delay was attributed to team coach Hans Flick, who received a warning and a potential penalty notice from UEFA's disciplinary body.
Conversely, Slavia Prague was fined 40,000 euros, with 20,000 euros for blocking fan exits and another 20,000 euros for lighting flares, and it was decided to suspend the partial stadium closure penalty for two years under observation.
