The former Egyptian star Amr Zaki revealed details about his personal life, confirming that he stopped drinking alcohol five years ago and talked about a difficult period he went through before being involved in an accident.

Zaki's statements came during his appearance on the program "I Admit and Confess" broadcast on Al-Nahar channel, where he indicated that he was committed in the period leading up to the incident, explaining that the two months prior to the incident were among the times he felt most stable on a personal level.

The former player explained that he went through a phase where he used to drink, but he made a decision to stop five years ago, expressing his desire to correct his path and return to work again to make up for what he missed.

Zaki added that before the accident, he was keen on praying and spending more time with his children, expressing his sadness over how some of his previous decisions affected his family, especially his mother and children.

He concluded his speech with an emotional message, pointing out that during his football career, he focused only on the present without planning for the future, emphasizing that he is currently striving to open a new chapter in his life.
