Manchester United Refuses to Lower Rashford's Price
Wednesday 18-02-2026
The Sun newspaper highlighted that Manchester United will not renegotiate the previously agreed £30 million fee for selling Marcus Rashford.

Rashford joined Barcelona on loan last summer, and so far has scored 10 goals and provided 10 assists despite not being a regular starter, making his current price reasonable according to Manchester United's stance.

Sources explained that the complexity of the deal is not limited to the agreed amount but also includes the player's salary, which United will save, as it amounts to about £315,000 per week. This is something Barcelona is unwilling to bear, necessitating negotiations with Rashford to reduce his salary to ensure the deal goes through.

On the other hand, United remains open to selling despite the arrival of coach Michael Carrick, considering that the latter's continuity is not guaranteed, while the English club focuses on signing a new midfielder after Casemiro's departure and is also looking for a striker to strengthen the team.

As for Barcelona, the priority is to sign a central defender and a number 9 striker, with Rashford being the third option. However, the club needs to study the budget possibilities for the three deals. So far, United insists on the previously agreed amount, making negotiations complex according to the newspaper's sources.
