Al-Ittihad Showers Al-Sadd with Four Goals and Ends the Group Stage Strongly

Al-Ittihad overwhelmed its host Al-Sadd with a 4-1 victory in the final round of Group B in the AFC Champions League for the elite.

The Portuguese coach Sérgio Conceição fielded a lineup that included Predrag Rajković, Muhannad Al-Shanqeeti, Danilo Pereira, Fabinho, Houssem Aouar, and Roger Fernandes, alongside Youssef En-Nesyri in the attack.

Al-Sadd started with an early attempt by Roberto Firmino in the eighth minute, but the goal was disallowed for offside, before Houssem Aouar opened the scoring for Al-Ittihad in the tenth minute.

Youssef En-Nesyri strengthened the score with a second goal in the 18th minute, followed by a third goal from an own goal when Pedro Miguel mistakenly cleared the ball in the 33rd minute.

Rafa Mujica reduced the deficit for Al Sadd in the 38th minute with a pass from Firmino, ending the first half with Al Ittihad leading 3-1.

In the second half, the newcomer Stefan Kler added the fourth goal in the 63rd minute, confirming the "Tigers'" superiority and securing them three valuable points at the end of the round.

The Union raised its tally to 15 points, placing third in the group, while Al Sadd's tally remained at 8 points in eighth place.
