Juan Garcia: We concede goals too easily, and this surprises me
Tuesday 17-02-2026
Joan Garcia, the Barcelona player, spoke after the 2-1 loss to Girona in the Spanish League, emphasizing the need to review mistakes and focus on improving performance, while expressing surprise at the lack of review of one of the refereeing decisions.

Garcia said: "In the live shot, I didn't see Kounde's play well, then I saw it in the replay, and for me, it's a foul. Kounde reached the ball first; I think it's a foul."

He continued: "What is surprising is that they did not call him from the video assistant referee. The referee can make mistakes, but it's strange that they didn't even call him to review it on the screen. These things happen, and we cannot control them, so we have to keep going."

He added: "As goalkeepers, we try to save the balls that come our way. Unfortunately, today there were more balls than we would have liked. My saves don't mean much if we can't secure the points."

He added: "I think we need to improve; we are conceding too many goals and very easily. We need to analyze; we have a week without a midweek match, which will help us analyze things well and work on them correctly. With a calm mind, we try to improve."

He continued: "From the back, things can be seen a little better. We press well on set pieces, but when we lose the ball, we lack a bit in stopping attacks and committing fouls in the opponent's field. They do that against us."

He concluded his statements by saying: "I am not concerned with the national team roster; we are trying to get through this short difficult period we are experiencing."
