The disallowed goal of Bao Kuparsi during the first leg of the semi-final of the Spanish King's Cup sparked widespread controversy within Barcelona, after the Referees Committee refrained from publishing the audio recording of the conversation between the field referee and the video assistant referee regarding the incident.

According to the Spanish newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo', the Catalan club believes that the malfunction in the semi-automated offside system in this case was serious, and the Referees Committee did not disclose the recording of the dialogue that took place between referee Juan Martinez Munuera and video referee Pablo Gonzalez Fortes about the disallowed goal.

The newspaper explained that the only recording published by the Referees Committee from the Atletico Madrid and Barcelona match was related to the incident of Eric Garcia's expulsion, where Martinez Munuera amended his initial decision to issue a yellow card after reviewing the footage based on Gonzalez Fortes' recommendation.

The published recording regarding Eric Garcia's expulsion stated: 'Okay, Pablo, I am in front of the screen, please show it to me, okay leave it at normal speed, please, it is true that the ball does not go very far, okay, stop it at the moment, one second, a little more' show it a little forward, okay, Ronald Araujo is very far, okay, I will change the card, Ronald Araujo is much farther than I expected.'

The Referees Committee also did not publish any recording that clarifies whether there was a discussion between Martinez Munuera and Gonzalez Fortes regarding Giuliano's strong tackle on Balde, an incident Barcelona considers deserving of a red card.

The match ended with a state of anger among Barcelona players towards the referee, amid the refereeing controversy accompanying the confrontation.
