Al-Ittihad Opens Negotiations with Sevilla Striker
The Saudi club Al-Ittihad continues its moves in the winter transfer market, having set its sights on Spanish forward Rafa Mir, who is on loan from Sevilla to Elche, as a target to strengthen their attacking line.
The Spanish newspaper Marca revealed that the management of Al-Ittihad has made an official offer to sign Rafa Mir, who is currently suffering from a hamstring injury sustained at the beginning of January.
The newspaper indicated that the player is considering several offers currently on the table, including an offer from Al-Ittihad, in preparation for making his final decision before the transfer window closes.
Rafa Mir joined Elche on a one-year loan from Sevilla, with an option for a permanent purchase at any time for 3.5 million euros.
Marca explained that the completion of the deal is linked to one of two scenarios: either terminating the loan with Elche's consent, or activating the purchase option and then reselling the player later.
Sevilla FC does not object to the permanent departure of Rafa Mir, aiming to reduce financial burdens and support the team with new signings, provided there is both technical and economic benefit.
Rafa Mir, 28 years old, shows a willingness to experience playing outside of Spain, having participated in 20 matches with Elche this season, during which he scored 6 goals.
