Conceição Announces Readiness of Al-Ittihad Star Before Al-Okhdood Match
Portuguese Sergio Conceição, coach of Al-Ittihad team, has regained the services of right-back Muhannad Al-Shanqeeti after overcoming injuries, in preparation for facing Al-Okhdood as part of the 18th round of the Saudi Roshan League.
Al-Shanqeeti had to leave during halftime of the match between Al-Ittihad and Al-Qadisiyah, which the team lost 1-2 in the 17th round, due to suffering from muscle fatigue that affected his full participation.
Al-Shanqeeti, 26, underwent the necessary medical examinations before resuming group training with Al-Ittihad, according to what was reported by the newspaper "Al-Riyadiyah" on Sunday, confirming his readiness for the upcoming match.
Al-Ittihad ranks sixth in the Saudi Roshan League standings with 27 points, having achieved eight victories, three draws, and five defeats, which increases the importance of the player's return before facing Al-Okhdood.
The match is scheduled to take place on Monday at 8:30 PM at the "Al-Inma" Stadium in King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, as part of the 18th round of the competition.
Al-Shanqeeti is considered one of the key pillars of Al-Ittihad, having played 155 local and Asian matches with the team, contributing to 25 goals, including 7 goals scored and 19 assists, since joining the team in late 2018 from the club Ohod.
