Al-Ittihad Continues Revival and Defeats Al-Shabab with a Double to Boost Its Ambitions

Al-Ittihad team asserted its dominance and continued its positive results by securing an important 2-0 victory over Al-Shabab in a match held at the Enmaa Stadium in Jeddah, as part of the tenth round of the Roshn Saudi League.

Portuguese coach Sérgio Conceição started the match with a lineup that included Rajkovic, Metai, Cadash, Danilo Pereira, Al-Shanqeeti, Fabinho, Kanté, Ahmed Al-Ghamdi, Roger Fernandes, Karim Benzema, and Steven Bergwijn.

Ahmed Al-Ghamdi opened the scoring early for Al-Ittihad in the 16th minute, following up on a cross from Roger Fernandez inside the penalty area to slot the ball into the net, announcing Al-Ittihad's lead.

The first half ended with Al-Ittihad leading by a single goal. At the start of the second half, Al-Shabab intensified their efforts to equalize, while Al-Ittihad continued to press forward in search of extending their lead.

Dutch player Steven Berghuis successfully scored the second goal in the 85th minute, capitalizing on a precise cross from Muhannad Al-Shanqeeti, and shot the ball directly into the Al-Shabab goal.

In the final minutes, a third goal for Al-Ittihad scored by Abdulaziz Al-Bishi in the 89th minute was disallowed after a video review due to offside.

With this victory, Al-Ittihad secured their third consecutive win for the first time under Conceição's leadership, reaching 17 points in sixth place, while Al-Shabab's tally remained at 8 points in thirteenth place.
