The Spanish newspaper "Sport" revealed that English club Tottenham is the top option if Marc-André ter Stegen decides to leave Barcelona, given the clarity of his situation within the team after returning from a back injury and receiving the green light to play.

Sport mentioned that the German goalkeeper has come to the realization that he will not be the first choice for the goalkeeper position, as Barcelona insists on keeping Juan Garcia as the main goalkeeper in major competitions, with the Polish Wojciech Szczęsny as the second option, which limits Ter Stegen's chances of playing.

According to the Spanish newspaper, Ter Stegen prefers to continue with Barcelona and try to complete his contract, which runs until 2028, especially given his family stability and high salary, as well as his belief that circumstances could change in the future. However, this stance might change if Tottenham makes an official move, as the London club is seriously considering signing a goalkeeper during the winter transfer window.

Sport explained that Tottenham is clearly facing a crisis in the goalkeeper position due to the decline in form of the Italian goalkeeper Vicario. This has opened the door to considering the signing of Ter Stegen on a loan deal with an option to buy, with the English club able to afford his salary and offer an attractive sporting project.

The newspaper pointed out that the offers Barcelona received from other clubs such as Beşiktaş, Bologna, and Ajax, in addition to an informal inquiry from Manchester United, did not convince the German goalkeeper, either financially or sportingly.

The report emphasized that Ter Stegen's future will remain open in the coming period, without pressure from Barcelona's management, as they await whether Tottenham will take a decisive step that could change the German goalkeeper's stance.
