Barcelona continues preparations for the 2025/2026 season amid the sports management's study to strengthen the attack line after Robert Lewandowski's contract ends on June 30, with indications pointing to the possibility of the Polish player parting ways with the team after the current season.

In this context, Julian Alvarez tops the list of potential candidates, despite the high financial cost of signing him, as his contract with Atletico Madrid extends until 2030 and his market value reaches 100 million euros, according to Transfermarkt.

In a press interview, Alvarez commented on talks about his future and links to Barcelona, saying: "Look, it doesn't bother me, I try not to pay much attention, but I know the talk exists."

He continued: "A lot is circulated on social media, and I believe what is said there is bigger than reality."

He added: "I am fully focused on this season and what lies ahead with Atletico Madrid, so I try to ignore that and concentrate on myself, on developing as a player, and on winning."

In a previous interview with L'Équipe newspaper, the player stated that he left the door open to a change of environment after this season ends, saying: "In Spain, there is a lot of talk about me and about Barcelona, we will see what happens at the end of the season."

Alvarez explained that his love for Barcelona dates back to his childhood, partly due to his relationship with Lionel Messi, affirming that his dream has always been to play for the Catalan team.

Regarding his performance this season, Alvarez has participated in 21 matches with Atletico Madrid, scoring 11 goals and providing four assists, making him the team's top scorer, while last season he scored 29 goals and provided eight assists over 59 matches.
