After his impressive breakthrough this season with Paris FC in the French league, Algerian player Ilan Qabbal aims to secure his place in the national team and participate in the upcoming major tournaments, foremost among them the Africa Cup of Nations and the 2026 World Cup.

Qabbal said in a statement to the "Foot Mercato" website today, Saturday: "I felt a great sense of pride upon returning to the national team after four years. This goal has been with me for a long time, and seeing my name on the list is an honor for me. My goal now is not just to be present, but to continue and prove myself."

The player pointed out that his prior acquaintance with some members of the national team made it easier for him to integrate quickly: "I knew some of the players from my previous call-up, and we kept in touch. This helped me adapt quickly within the group."

Kabbal spoke about the unique atmosphere in Algerian stadiums, saying: "The atmosphere in Algeria is unlike anywhere else, perhaps only the Velodrome stadium comes close. Playing in Tizi Ouzou was an exceptional experience; the crowd's roar never stops and gives the team a great boost of energy."
