Gourvennec criticises Marseille's defence after defeat to Paris FC

Bruno Génésio, the coach of Olympique Marseille, expressed his strong dissatisfaction with his team's defensive performance during the 3-2 loss to Paris FC on Sunday evening, in the third round of Ligue 1.

Bruno said after the match: "We cannot hope to achieve much when we defend the way we did," emphasizing that defensive mistakes wasted the positive things the team had done offensively.

The French coach added that Paris FC's third goal was a clear indication of his team's struggles, explaining: "We took a long time to move the ball, there was a lack of balance, and we were exposed to counter-attacks as if we were a team of children."

Guinnessio also admitted to bearing part of the responsibility, stating that he asks his players to press and defend high, but emphasized the need for the team to know when to press and when to drop back and maintain their shape.

Despite the loss, Olympique Marseille's coach praised some attacking aspects, particularly the performances of Amine Harit and Igor Paixão, but he emphasized that the team needs to work quickly to correct its defensive issues.
