Paris FC thrash Olympique Marseille with three goals from Sinayoko
Olympique Marseille suffered their second consecutive defeat in Ligue 1, falling 3-2 to their visitors Paris FC on Sunday evening, in the third round of the competition.
The match began in shocking fashion for the home side, as Lassine Sinayoko managed to open the scoring after just 23 seconds, the fastest goal conceded by Olympique Marseille since Opta started collecting data in the 2006-2007 season.
Olympique Marseille fought back, with Amine Gouiri equalising in the 8th minute, before Lassine Sinayoko restored Paris FC's lead in the 19th minute, putting the home side under significant pressure.
In the second half, Amine Gouiri brought Olympique Marseille back into the match with his second goal in the 53rd minute, but Lassine Sinayoko completed his impressive performance by scoring his third goal, securing a valuable 3-2 victory for Paris FC at the Stade Vélodrome.
With this result, Olympique Marseille continues its shaky start to the season, having opened the league with a big win over Strasbourg 4-0 before losing to AS Monaco 0-2, and then suffering its second consecutive defeat against Paris FC.
