Beloumi, Chikha, and Qabal return to Algeria national team
Algeria's attack has undergone significant changes under new coach Ibrahim Hamdani, in the absence of retired captain Riyad Mahrez, alongside the exclusion of Faris Ghadjemis due to a lack of competition, while several names that had been absent from the 'Greens' in recent times have made a return.
Bachir Belloumi is one of the most notable returnees, preparing to appear again with the national team after an absence of nearly two years, as his last call-up was in November 2024.
Amin Chiah and Ilan Qabal have both scored upon their return to the squad, showcasing their performances with their teams in Norway and France, where Qabal plays for Paris FC.
He participated with the Algeria national team in the Africa Cup of Nations 2025, but was left out of the FIFA World Cup 2026 squad for technical reasons, similar to Monsef Berrad, who attended the continental event but missed the World Cup.
Shiaha missed the Africa Cup of Nations and the FIFA World Cup, participating only in the training camp last March before the global event.
