Just hours after the team’s 0-2 loss at home to Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league, Levante officially announced today, Sunday, the dismissal of head coach Julián Calero.
This defeat worsened the team's crisis, leaving their points total stuck at 9 in 19th place, second to last in the table, only ahead of the last-placed Real Oviedo on goal difference.
Calero had started coaching Levante in 2024 and led the team back to the first division. After a good start to the season, things took a significant downturn.
It is worth noting that 55-year-old Callero has previously managed several lower-division teams in Spain, and this is his first time coaching in La Liga.
